A taste of French culture at FEU

Mar 11, 2009 by FN's Shar Bareng

Every year, Francophiles look forward to the French Spring Festival for a delightful taste of France without having to leave the country. To show how much they relish the rich French culture, Far Eastern University went ahead and launched its own Fête Francaise recently.

Francophiles delighted in the exhibit of French visual arts and architecture, film screenings, and musical performances. French pop music got a fresh, Filipino treatment as FEU's Bamboo Band played "Le vent de la nuit" and "Faust," while the FEU Chorale performed two popular French songs, "L'important c'est la rose" and "La la la, je ne l'ose dire."

While Alliance Francaise de Manille (AFM) hosted a demo of French cooking, Hotel and Restaurant Management students prepared a feast for guests.

For the benefit of students and visitors who want a deeper exposure to French culture, FEU invited Emilie Flambeaux from the French embassy to present an overview of educational opportunities in France.

Check out the gallery below for a glimpse of FEU’s Fête Francaise.
