With the unpredictable weather caused by climate change, many have taken measures to reverse and prevent further damage to the environment. Beauty addicts have switched to earth-friendly wares, foodies now eat local and organic food, and fashionistas are now picking items made from sustainable sources or finding ways to reinvent old pieces. Now, travelers too can get their dose of adventure without having to harm the environment.

Here are eight local destinations where you can kick back, relax, forget about the stressful city life, and still give our planet her much needed break.

The best time to visit donsol is during summer, more specifically march to may. You can see more butandings during this time of the year. You'll be lucky to catch a glimpse of one during the other months.

Wow! It feels great that out of the 8 Ecotourism Hotspots in the Philippines, I have seen, experienced and enjoyed the 4 spots already (Batanes Group of Islands,Bohol,Ifugao Province & Puerto Princesa,Palawan) and coming up next week by June 10 is our trip to the 5th spot - Busuanga,Palawan.

Need more vacation time and budget to experience and see for myself the 3 more remaining ecotourism hotspots.

Oh! I love Philippines, tara biyahe tayo!

While travel costs will rise in the future, natural recreational areas closeby urban dwellings will gain in importance. But also the demand for international nature-travel to some last intact ecosystems will rise.

What was the criteria used to determine that these "hotspots" really do practice "ecotourism"?
