Filipinos by nature are truly makabayan (nationalistic). From the days of the KKK up to EDSA, we have proven our nationalism by braving the streets to fight for our freedom and the principles we uphold. This month, especially during National Heroes' Day, we all look back and commemorate our splendid history enriched by the brave souls who stood by their beliefs until their last breath.
Not only is August an ideal month to pay homage to our heroes, it's also a great time to embrace our diverse heritage. This month, we are also celebrating several grand festivals indigenous to different provinces in the country. In addition, our Muslim brothers will also be celebrating the end of Ramadan toward the end of the month.
