What's the first thing you'd do once you get your iPhone? That was the question journalists threw at the more than a thousand Japanese who lined up to get their first touch of Apple's iPhone 3G.Though the first guy who emerged with his iPhone in hand said the first thing he did was call his girlfriend, a large number of those surveyed said that once they lay their hand on the virgin cell phone, they'd want to use the GPS function first.
In the US, interest in GPS is also high. An article in the dining section of The New York Times titled "Where to eat? Ask your iPhone" shows how excited people are about it and also displays how useful (or useless) content applications are.
The Philippines is part of the second phase of the iPhone's 3G global rollout, and that gives you enough time to think about what you'll do when you get your very own handset. Or if you're a tech genius, this will perhaps give you enough time to create your own application incorporating GPS.
