Site-seeing: calorie counter for the health-conscious

Dec 3, 2008 by FN's Shar Bareng

Christmas is the worst time of the year to be on a diet, but should you really need to watch what you eat this month, this online calorie counter can help.

Keep track of calories with the Daily Plate's calorie calculator, a nifty device that counts food's calorie content in detail--even the exact amount you find in fast food items. All you have to do is search for what you've just eaten on their database, and the system automatically generates the amount of calories you've taken in. The calculator can also recommend how much exercise you need to burn extra calories based on your personal profile and fitness goals.

If you're looking for a diet to suit your fitness goals, the site also gives a detailed list of diets you can choose from.

But if you're going to ask us, it's best to just enjoy the holidays and not get too obsessed with numbers.
