Pop-up hotel rooms built

Jul 2, 2008 by FN's Chrissy Icamina

These collapsible hotel rooms in Europe are a lot more cozy than those capsule hotels in Japan—but possibly a lot easier to build.

French company Abilmo offers temporary pop-up hotel rooms that can be constructed practically anywhere with ease. Think of camping out—minus the "camping" part. It offers all of the basic conveniences a normal hotel room provides, such as electricity, lighting, running water (with heater), air-conditioning, a bathroom, and basic furnishings like a bed, a small table, and a chair. Major outdoor events could make a killing out of building these nifty temporary dwellings.

Judging from the photos, the rooms don't look bad either. Check out more pictures after the jump.
