Blogger beware

May 31, 2008 by FN Blogger Kissa Castañeda

How many of you have made your personal blogs your very own sounding board? Many, I suppose. Whatever the topic may be - politics, fashion, or business - blog entries, more often than not, are opinionated and subjective.

They say that today is the TMI (too much information) era, where sharing intimate details of one's life is a given. For some, blogging about themselves and their problems is crucial in helping them be heard and in some cases, recover. However, for others, "oversharing" backfires and causes them more trouble than blogging is worth.

The online community can lend an ear or hand and be sympathetic to one's issues. On the flip side, however, its highly voyeuristic nature gives way to vicious comments that worsen the situation.
