Do you break up more than you make up? Here are 5 stupid mistakes Pinays commit to the detriment of their relationships. Check them out before yours goes down the drain!

Mommy Dearest. Chances are, your guy grew up with a mother—there’s no need to act like one. Nagging him to get things done and scolding him when he doesn’t are big no-no’s. If you’d like him to accomplish a task, speak to him in earnest—make it clear that this is important to you. If he falls back on your agreement, give him a second chance. You have every right to be peeved, but there’s no need to overreact. You don’t want him to feel like he’s about to be grounded.

Possessive Aggressive. Are you the jealous type? Possessiveness is not only unattractive—it can be destructive. Guys don’t like being kept on a leash; the tighter it gets, the more they’ll want to break free. If he’s got a boys’ night out, stay home—you don’t have to be there. If he spoke to his ex at a party, take it as it is—a simple conversation between old acquaintances. Don’t force him to ask for your permission to hang out with certain people—it just makes you look insecure.

The Crystal Ball Syndrome. Many girls project their potential lives with their boyfriends—when they will be married, what their children will be called. It is as if they were witnessing an inevitable event through a crystal ball. Don’t be one of them! Although the future plays a huge part in any committed relationship, predicting it is ill-advised. Looking too much into the future will place unnecessary pressure on your guy, who may be torn between your expectations and his own.

Friendly Warning. While your friends’ opinions count for a lot, they’re not the person you are in love with. If you are sure about your feelings, don’t let your posse interfere with your relationship. Everything about and between you and your man should be kept that way—you don’t need a second opinion. Things could turn very sour if your guy discovers his dirty laundry was being aired out in a focus group discussion.

Going, Going, Gone. Just because you have a boyfriend doesn’t mean you should let yourself go. Many a man has been lost after his woman stopped making an effort. Eyes wander—and you don’t want his to leave you for an instant. If you have a daily exercise routine, keep at it. If you’ve got new clothes, wear them out on a date. It’s not true that when you’re in a relationship you cease having to be pretty for anyone; on the contrary, you should always try to stay attractive to the most important person in your life.
