Tokyo welcomes H&M

Aug 14, 2008 by FN Blogger Kissa CastaƱeda

kissa_jpshop.jpgFrom tiny offbeat boutiques to gigantic luxury chains, Tokyo certainly has the best the fashion world has to offer. Yet there's still a gap that needs to be filled, and that's in the lack of fast fashion stores.

While Uniqlo and Gap stores are a common sight, cult chains such as Topshop and American Apparel are few and far between. And everyone's one-stop-shop H&M is nowhere to be seen.

Not anymore.

Come September, the Swedish chain will open its first-ever store in the high-fashion district, Ginza, with yet another branch to follow soon in Harajuku. For sure, the Japanese are looking forward to this valuable addition to their fashion options.

Back home, Balenciaga and hordes of new cool shops like Theodore's have spiced up the Manila shopping scene. Is there a brand you're dying to have in the Philippines?
