Gladys Reyes has been around in showbiz for so long (since her big break as Clara in the long-running soap, Mara Clara), yet she still looks almost as young as when she started out. Meanwhile, Sheena Halili has gone from “just one of those Starstruck girls” to one of television’s more recognized young stars, thanks to her roles in primetime shows such as Marimar and the recently launched LaLola.

These women got us curious how they maintain their youthful glow and still manage to stand out amidst an ever-growing and changing roster of bigger and younger stars. Gladys and Sheena reveal their beauty secrets and fashion statements to FemaleNetwork. You’ll find that even stars like them would go for ukay-ukay.
Skincare regimen:
Sheena: I use Shu Eumura make-up remover for my face. At kapag puyat, ‘di ba hindi ka pwedeng maghugas ng face dahil mapapasma ka? That’s why I use toner or astringent from my derma bago matulog. I also use baby soaps, whitening and oatmeal soaps.
Gladys: I’m using our brand, KSA Magic, for sensitive skin and extra sensitive skin especially sa face. I also use oatmeal soap. Hindi kasi ako [mahilig gumamit ng] moisturizer. Dati I used calamansi rinse, pero hindi na ngayon kasi meron na ‘yun sa soap.
Beauty secrets:
Sheena: ‘Pag may time, lagi akong nagpapa-facial. And feeling ko nakadadagdag ang massage para lumabas ang beauty mo, kasi relaxed ka. Mas lagi ako’ng sa house nagpapa-massage kesa sa taping.
Gladys: I use soap and water lang [when I get home]. And I believe lalabas ang ganda mo kung happy ka within, lalo na ngayon, may bagong baby kami (with husband Christopher Roxas), may business, at saka contented na kami sa aming boy and girl. Sa food intake, I eat chicken and fish. I seldom eat pork and beef kasi hindi mabilis [matunaw sa’kin].
Way of dressing:
Sheena: ‘Pag wala sa taping, [I usually wear] skinny jeans and shirts—‘yung t-shirt na medyo mahaba—and flats. ‘Pag may guestings, [I wear a] dress. Then ‘pag taping, [I wear] shorts.
Gladys: I go for a safe outfit. You don’t need branded clothes as long as okay ang fit kahit galing pa sa ukay-ukay yan or sa sponsors, kuntento na ako. Petite din kasi ako. Ingat ako sa cut ng damit pati sa kulay. I’m not the adventurous type [when it comes to] colors and style. Kahit sa hairstyle, hindi abrupt ang changes ko.
Where they shop:
Sheena: Siyempre dahil Kapampangan ako, sa Pampanga.
Gladys: Robinsons Metro East, Glorietta, and SM Marikina, [since] I’m a resident of Cainta, Rizal.
Favorite piece of clothing:
Sheena: I have this one pair of skinny jeans na binili sa isang shop na hindi branded pero ‘yung tela, okay. I want to try ukay-ukay kasi mura and maganda naman daw. [It helps] sa work namin [kasi] palit ka ng palit ng damit, [pero] minsan mo lang naman isusuot.
Gladys: Halter blouse and skinny jeans. I never wear loose shirts.
