Lip primping can now be an advocacy. The act of prettifying oneself can now be an act to save humanity.
Big words for such a small, delicate part of the human anatomy? Not so. Worldwide alarm for HIV and AIDS has increased considerably in the recent years, and everyone is trying to do their bit, sometimes even joining forces, to fight this once so remote yet ever-dreaded disease.
Case in point: The Body Shop, together with MTV, launched the global “Move Your Lips” campaign with the new limited edition Guarana Lip Butter. All proceeds from every pot of Guarana Lip Butter sold will go directly to the Staying Alive Foundation, which funds HIV awareness and prevention for young people around the world—the new targets of this infection.
A pretty noble reason to start moisturizing your lips, don’t you think?
The Guarana Lip Butter has a unique formula that will restore moisture levels and protect delicate lips. It contains guarana berry, found in the Amazon Basin in Brazil, which is known for its stimulating, energy-enhancing, and natural antioxidant properties. To ensure that lips are moisturized completely with just an application, Body Shop also added their Community Trade shea butter from Ghana and beeswax from Zambia, two highly hydrating natural ingredients, into its formulation.
MTV supports the “Move Your Lips” campaign by running advertisements across all its networks over 508 million households in 160 countries—targeting the mostly young audience of this music channel.
