What do you do if you accidentally drop your newly-bought pressed powder and lipstick—and suddenly find the once compact makeup broken into a million little pieces and your lipstick broken in half? Do you throw them away? Of course not!
I am quite sure you spent good money on that; after all makeup is an investment. Wouldn’t you still want to use them? I can give you a few tips on how to re-use your makeup even after they have lost its original form and container.

There is one way to still be able to re-use face powder, foundation, eye shadow, or blush that has fallen apart from its original compact form. You can also apply this when you have used up the middle part of your compact and would still like to use the remaining products that are clinging around the rim. You simply have to follow these steps:
1. Take the pressed powder, blush, foundation, or eye shadow that have broken away from the compact and thoroughly crush or break up the remaining pieces (do this also for the products surrounding the rim).
2. Add a small amount of rubbing alcohol (preferably ethyl alcohol and which contains moisturizers) to the crushed powder and mix it to form a paste for a few minutes. Place this in a flat container, either using the original compact if it is still usable, or in a similar flat container. Form the paste into a round flat shape.
3. As the alcohol dries, a solid cake forms again. In a few hours after the product dries up, you can already use your pressed powder, blush, or eye shadow in the same way as before.
Quick tip: If you do not have time to follow this procedure, you may opt to just transfer the broken up pressed powder in a little glass or plastic pot (similar to the container of mineral makeup). Crush it until it’s as fine as loose powder and use it as such. It will still have the same results even if its form has changed. You can also use this for blush and eye shadow.
You also need not fret when your lipstick accidentally breaks in half. Follow this procedure and you’ll find that you can still use your favorite lip color even if not in stick form. You can also apply this when you want to still be able to use the remaining product in the tube when you have used up the entire stick.
1. Make sure you have a pill box handy, preferably one that has many little compartments and are labeled with the days of the week. This is where you will place the broken lipstick halves and the remnants of the product which you have scraped off from the tube.
2. You can put one color per compartment, or, if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous and creative, you can also mix two or more colors in one compartment.
3. You can already use the lip color straight from the pill box in this form. Some people also opt to place the pill box containing the different lip color into the microwave to bake it for a few seconds, just to flatten the lipstick into each compartment.
4. Now that you have your own custom lipstick compact, just use your lipstick brush and mix and match any of the colors for your own special look. You now bring around more colors in one container instead of bringing around several tubes of lipstick all at once.
