If planning day-to-day outfits is hard enough. can you imagine the headache that comes with planning a wedding?
To sort out one's thoughts, many count on mind maps, outlines or a making a simple list. However, if you want to streamline your ideas into a visual feast, I find that making a moodboard organizes thoughts at a much faster and enjoyable pace.
Moodboards are commonly used by design folk to effectively evoke a certain idea or mood (hence the name). It's usually a collage of cut-out images, text, fabric or leather swatches that all ride on the same theme. They impart a distinct feel--the era, the textures, the colors, the inspiration--everything is evident with just one glance. Moodboards are helpful for designers in determining the look and the trend direction they're taking. This aspect is also what makes it helpful for the bride-to-be.

If you're still stuck and don't know exactly what you want, just browse through magazines or design catalogs and rip out what you think is interesting. Slowly build on that and eventually you'll come up with a cohesive idea of the theme, color scheme and look for your wedding.
If you're interested in vintage style with a Victorian edge, check out this online moodboard to get some inspiration.
