DON’T
- Don’t tug or pull on the outer corners of your eyes to apply liner. You might end up with a jagged finish when the skin folds back.
- Don’t move your head too close to the mirror when applying liner. Leaning in too close may cause you (or your pencil or brush) to bump into it and leave you with an unwanted smudge.
- Don’t line your eyes by moving your hand hurriedly from side to side. Doing it haphazardly may cause you to accidentally poke your eye—ouch!
DO
- Lightly pull your lids upwards from the center (above your pupil) with your finger. You’ll get a more accurate view and be able to draw a straighter line.
- A better way to apply liner is to look straight into the mirror and tilt your head back a bit until you see your lashline. It’s a much easier way to get a better view of your upper lids.
- To make it easier for you to glide your hand from end to end, provide a steady base for your hand by resting bottom of your palm on your chin.
