We often see children of celebrities following in their parents’ showbiz footsteps: think KC Concepcion, Luis Manzano, Karylle, and Richard Gutierrez, just to name a few. Yet one celebrity daughter dares to step out of her comedian-host dad’s shadow by taking the fashion route—still on television nonetheless.
Jocas de Leon, 25, eldest daughter of Joey de Leon, spent six years in New York, where she got her BA then MA in Economics at Fordham University before taking fashion courses at Fashion Institute of Technology. Now back in the Philippines where she has been working as a merchandiser for one of the biggest local department store chains, Jocas adds another feather to her cap by taking on a hosting job in Q Channel 11’s magazine show, Fashionistas By Heart, which premieres tonight at 7PM.

Sam Oh's styling tips for parties
Feb 25, 2009 by FN's Trixie Reyna
Does dressing for a party still seem like a daunting task for you? And do you wonder what essentials you must carry in your puny evening bag?
Q Channel 11’s resident party girl, Sam Oh, makes party dressing a breeze—especially since she practically lives and breathes all these happenings. In fact, she and eventologist Tim Yam have a new lifestyle show on Q-11, Events Incorporated, which will feature how events big or small are put together beginning February 28 at 6PM.
In a recent chat with FemaleNetwork, Sam dishes her own tips on dressing and getting made up for parties, how to accessorize, and what essentials to bring in your tiny gimmick bag.
Hard-to-find popular beauty brands in locally-owned online store
Feb 23, 2009 by FN's Trixie Reyna
Are there cosmetic brands you swear by that are unfortunately not available in the Philippines? Would you like to try ordering them through the brands’ online stores but are worried that the product will never arrive, even after you’ve paid?
A new online beauty store addresses both concerns. Former Miss Philippines title-holder Tamera Marie Szijarto, 25, wanted to begin a business that involved something she loves, thus TameraOnline.com was born. Combining her background as a computer engineer and love for everything beautiful, the online store sells internationally popular beauty products, which Tamera also patronizes, that are not available in the Philippines.
