Struggling with Happily Ever After: 10 Fun Fictional Couples to Read About

Liana, FN's managing editor, lists couples from book series whose stories don't end after the wedding bells have stopped ringing. By Liana Smith-Bautista

Who doesn’t love a good, light romantic read? But I find that sometimes I get frustrated when the story ends right after the hero and heroine declare their love for one another and/or get married. Because, having been married for almost four years now, I know that “I love you” doesn’t always fix the problems between a man and a woman, and I also know that the wedding is just the beginning of a whole new adventure in your relationship.

Fortunately, not all romance books or series end at this point. In the gallery below, I’ve listed 10 couples from book series who still struggle with the ups and downs of their relationships after they’ve tied themselves together ‘til death do them part—or for all eternity, considering that some of these couples are undead!

Click through the list and let me know which couples you’ve read about and which you like or don’t like. And, of course, I’d love to hear about more fictional couples I might want to read about, so please go ahead and post your suggestions too!
