My Top 5 Style Icons

FN's editorial assistant, Pat, shares the women who inspire the way she dresses. By Patricia Dayacap

article_style-icons.jpgIn my previous blog entry, I mentioned how fashion has always been one of my great loves. While it was only in college that I became seriously interested in it (and by that, I mean ardently viewing all the designer collections online, knowing most of the girls who would walk the shows,  and keeping up with all the goings-on in the industry), I've always regarded style as something quite close to my heart.

In no way am I saying that I've always been fashion-forward—of course not. But I suppose I've always had an idea of the aesthetic I wish to embody, the feeling I want to convey with the clothes I wear. And that, in my honest opinion, is far more important than merely copying the looks on the runway (not that I wouldn't mind having a closet full of these designs!).

But while I may know in my head the look I like the most (feminine with a dash of quirk, like my ultimate icon Alexa Chung), I'm also always eager to expand this vision. And this is where the inspiration comes in—via magazine editorials, street style, fashion blogs... the list goes on. For the sake of narrowing things down, however, I've decided to focus on most women's favorite source of inspiration: other women.

As such, I'd like to introduce you to five lovely ladies whose sartorial choices never fail to entice me. If the fashion fairy were ever to grant me a wish (or five), I'd probably ask to raid the closets of these women (and girl!).
