5 Unconventional Healing Methods I've Tried

FN staff writer Jen shares some of the odd treatments she's had in the past and a few that she still applies today. By Jennifer Chan

What's the first thing that you do whenever you get sick? Do you immediately schedule an appointment with your doctor or do you simply wait it out? Personally, I am guilty of the latter. I rarely get sick, but when I do, it’s usually just an ordinary fever. Instead of seeing a doctor, I simply stay home for a few days, wrap myself up with a blanket, and drink lots of water. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to get additional help from unconventional sources.

Have you ever heard of crystal healing or color therapy? At home, these seemingly odd healing techniques are about as normal as it gets. As a child, I sometimes envied my other classmates whose parents had normal approaches to healthy living, but now I have learned to appreciate these unconventional healing methods. If you’re curious to find out what kinds of healing strategies I’ve been exposed to over the years, check out the gallery below.
