10 Looks I Love from Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2012

Dress for the season with these ensembles straight from the runway! By Patricia Dayacap

article_pfw-holiday-looks.jpgIf there's one month I love (aside from my birth month and December, that is), it has to be September. September, for me, signals the start of a different way of dressing and heralds an onslaught of fresh trends. For the fashion-obsessed, September is the month to welcome the new season and to say goodbye to the past. You only need to pick up a fashion magazine to understand this point.

Our Western counterparts, of course, approach the changing seasons differently. You can say they do so out of necessity since autumn and winter mean colder temperatures and various forms of precipitation, as well as the resultant need for thicker fabrics and additional layers. But we tropical country-dwellers still have the balmy weather to contest with. Still, why should that prevent us from diving headfirst into the wonderful world of new season dressing?

As we enter the -ber months, it's time to forget about Spring/Summer 2012's pastel hues and ladylike approach. Fall 2012 is darker, moodier, and more intense—and, frankly, I'm more than ready to embrace all these characteristics when it comes to getting dressed. So, in honor of the new season, I'd like to share my 10 favorite looks from Philippine Fashion Week Holiday (see what they did there?) 2012. Browse through the gallery to check them out.
