10 K-Pop Songs I Love

Staff writer Belle shares some of her favorite K-tunes, from catchy dance songs to heartwrenching ballads. By Belle Yambao

While my love affair with K-dramas began as early as high school, it was only late in college that I became a K-pop fan. You could say I stumbled upon the genre by accident. My thesis groupmate, Mheann, loved Taeyang from the K-pop group Bigbang, and she played their songs every time our group met to work on our thesis.

Now, their songs are pretty catchy and easy to listen to, but eventually, I needed a break from Bigbang songs. So during a lull in our next group meeting, I gave in to my curiosity and started surfing the web for more K-pop music. I discovered Dong Bang Shin Ki's "Mirotic"; then I got hooked, and I haven't looked back since!

Below I've listed 10 K-pop songs I've grown attached to over the past four years. Scroll through the pages to find out why I love them. How about you, FNites? Are you or any of your friends K-pop fans? Share your favorite songs in a comment!

1. "MIROTIC" by DBSK/Dong Bang Shink Ki (2008)

This is the song that got me into K-pop and turned me into a Cassie (short for Cassiopeia--DBSK's fanclub)! All five boys showed some skin--and showed off some fierce dance moves--in the music video.
