A marriage is a union of two unique individuals, each with a distinct personality. One brings into this relationship a wealth of history, current concerns, and future aspirations. In a marriage, the dynamics that stem from what a person brings into the relationship is truly greater than the simple sum of their parts. Consequently, one relationship can never be compared to another in the same way one person cannot be compared to another.
Though each couple is different, there are basic elements that each relationship may need in order to be successful. How they manifest in a specific partnership may differ across situations and from couple to couple. They are composed of eight elements with the acronym:
TRUE LOVE. These elements are often overlapping and are not mutually exclusive. In fact, each one of them may flow from one to the next.
