Single ladies: Turn weddings into potential date haunts

Your high school best friend is getting married. As one of her beautifully bedecked bridesmaids, everyone will be checking you out from their seats in the pews—including the groom's college roommate, who, by the way, is sizzling hot.

Weddings have long been viewed as a great place to meet potential partners (or at least potential dates). How do you best put yourself out there for that fateful meeting?

Do your research. Groomgroove.com suggests asking the bride or groom if there are going to be any single guys at the wedding. They'll be able to tell you outright who's worth knowing and who to avoid like the plague. But don't make it sound like you're actually on the lookout; if word gets around, you'll be the one men will avoid like the plague.

Look great. According to this site, you can't go wrong with a dress that's adequately sexy but not too uncomfortable that you'll be adjusting the hem and neckline all night. Prior to the date, squeeze some exercise into your schedule so you'll be confident in your curves on the wedding day.

Give guys opportunities to approach you. Girls who come with male dates, even just friendly ones, send out an "I'm taken" vibe, so it's best to go alone. If you're hanging with a group of girls, make sure you break away from them once in a while so interested dudes can come up to you.

Drink within your limits. Weddings = free-flowing drinks, an equation all guests seem to honor with joy. But although drinking serves the social function of helping people loosen up, you don't want to be so sloshed that you'll end up like this girl.

Ditch high expectations. Really, what are the chances you'll actually meet The One at this particular wedding? Dont go to the event with hopes of meeting your soul mate. Relax, be cool, and just meet men. You may not find your future husband, but you could meet next Saturday's date.
