In-Law Rivalry: 5 Tips on Dealing with a Monster Sister-in-Law

What do you do when your sister-in-law tries to put you down and make you look bad in front of your family? By Boboy Alianan, Vange Alianan

If you think that just because you get along with your parents-in-law, your extended family problems are over, think again. What happens when someone new joins the family and threatens to upset that balance? Say, your brother-in-law's wife--your sister-in-law--who seems to think that she needs to put you down to be accepted by your mutual mother-in-law? When this woman, who is not related to you by blood, seems hell-bent on pushing you off your place in the family, what do you do?

The truth is, every time someone joins a family, some adjustments need to be made. Without having to do anything out of the ordinary, the new member will cause change and disrupt the usual way people would interact with each other. But how do you deal when that new member is deliberately making trouble for you? For tips on handling the situation without descending to his or her level, scroll through the gallery below.
