How to tell if you're ready to tie the knot

Jun 9, 2009 by FN's Cheekie Albay

tietheknot.jpgYou’re better versions of yourselves around each other. If you can’t help but be more generous, more patient, and generally more positive when you’re around each other, your relationship is bound to last. As SheKnows.com puts it, if you support your partner in his endeavors, even pushing him to clean up his act when he’s messing around, you’re on the marrying track.

You compromise. As another article in SheKnows.com points out, for marriage to work, you have to be prepared not to get your way sometimes, just to make your partner happy. Similarly, next time an opportunity to please you comes up, he’s more than willing to return the favor.

Your get along with each other’s friends and families. If you are accepted by your partner’s brood and vice versa, that’s a green light. SheKnows.com asserts that a person’s family has great influence on him. You don’t want to be caught in the crosshairs if they realize they don’t like you.

Things don’t wane under the sheets. It’s common for a couple’s sex life to cool down after marriage, but that should be something to avoid, not aspire for. As SheKnows.com says, a woman who makes the extra effort to keep sex stimulating years into their union is marriage material in a man’s eyes.
