How romantic are you?

Are you a hopeless romantic or are you more private and reserved in expressing affection? Take the quiz to rate yourself! By Tala Dayrit

romLove is a strange thing. It can make the shy bold and daring and the extrovert timid and guarded. Yet no matter who you are, you have a romantic side--even if you may want to deny it because you worry it's too mushy or sentimental for a practical gal like you. You might express your sense of romance in ways that aren't quite chick flick material, but it is still an ever-present part of yourself.

Take the quiz below to learn a little bit more about your romantic leanings.

1 .) Your idea of a great date is:
  1. An afternoon stroll and a nice--but not overly fancy--dinner.
  2. A casual dinner out, followed by cuddling at home and a chocolate fondue course with wine.
  3. A sunset dinner for two on a private beach, complete with soft violins to serenade you.
2 .) Do you believe in love at first sight?
  1. Yes, and you believe it'll happen to you one day--if it hasn't already!
  2. Sure, and you know that if it doesn't work, then there's always "second" sight!
  3. No way! Love involves getting to know your partner and finding that special something in each other.
3 .) Do you have pet names for each other outside the typical "babe," "hon," or "love"?
  1. No. They embarrass you even when you're not the one using them, plus they take longer to text.
  2. Yes! He’s your snugglebunny, and you're his cutiepatootiepie!
  3. Although you sometimes joke that he’s your “sun and stars,” you don't use these names for real.
4 .) Do you send handwritten love letters or love notes to your special someone, despite the conveniences of SMS, chat, and e-mail?
  1. Yes, you still make the effort because you think nothing says you love him "just because" than a handwritten note.
  2. Sometimes, though you had more time to do this when you were in school, so it's mostly for special occasions.
  3. Not anymore. It would be nice to do that, but who has the time?
5 .) Your guy has to be out of town for a month. How you do show your partner you miss him?
  1. Daily texts and instant messages and frequent calls and e-mails. You'll even surprise him on occasion with a naughty message to keep things interesting.
  2. Regular but not necessarily daily communication through texts, calls, or e-mails. You tell him you miss him, but you know he's got work to do--and so do you.
  3. Daily texts, calls, e-mail, instant messenges--the works! You also like having little gifts delivered to him, especially ones that remind him of you and home.
6 .) Which of the following would you want for your ideal wedding?
  1. Flowers lining the aisles, you in a magical white gown, a big choir, and all the bells and whistles!
  2. Everyone who is and has been a part of your lives.
  3. A very competent wedding planner so you won't have to worry about a thing!
7 .) Which of these marriage proposals would be ideal?
  1. He takes you to a nice dinner at a cozy restaurant; although he doesn't have witnesses or grandiose gestures, he pops the question after a heartfelt declaration of love.
  2. He takes you out to a romantic dinner overlooking the city, and he surprises you by having your friends and family show up to witness him pop the question.
  3. You attend a family event together--he's already won your nearest and dearest over with his charming attitude--and he pops the question before the party ends.
8 .) How do you show your partner you love him?
  1. You leave him little notes and send him "just because I love you" texts throughout the week.
  2. Cooking him his favorite dish after a particularly trying day.
  3. Telling him “I love you” before you head for work in the morning and before you go to sleep at night.
9 .) It's your first wedding anniversary! What's the plan?
  1. Have a nice, quiet dinner with absolutely zero work talk!
  2. Recreate your very first date and see how he reacts to the memories!
  3. Eat the top tier of the wedding cake as tradition dictates!
10 .) You're both stressed out, so you plan for a vacation for just the two of you. Where do you end up going?
  1. Anywhere the seat sale takes you!
  2. On a romantic cruise--the perfect getaway from stress!
  3. To your "unwind beach" in Palawan!
