Before sharing your life with your significant other, make sure you’ve lived your single life to the fullest. Here are seven things you shouldn’t miss out on before you say "I do."

Traveling the world
You could do it alone, with your sister, or with your close friends. Discover what’s out there and enjoy every destination your feet will take you to. It’s about stepping out of the box and finding pleasure in things you’re not used to.

Understanding your finances
Having your own savings account, your OWN money, is important. So is knowing how its value appreciates and depreciates. Trust us: The more you understand your finances, the better you'll be able to handle your hard-earned cash.

Living alone

Aside from this being a step toward independence, living alone teaches you to enjoy your own company. Plus, you get to call the shots on your curfew and handle your monthly budget.

Learning how to cook
If you’ve decided to live on your own, you might as well learn how to cook, too. You don’t want to eat delivered meals or take-out all the time, right? There are meal recipes online that you could easily whip up or go the old-fashioned route with a handy cook book.

Getting busy with a new hobby
Always wanted to try painting or calligraphy? Then this is the time to do it. Not that you won’t be able to enjoy these hobbies when you’re already married, but doing it now gives you more time to appreciate them.

Splurging on your wants and needs

There’s nothing wrong with indulging in a treat once in a while. You’ve earned the money; it’s only right to treat yourself to something nice like clothes, delicious food, or a well-deserved trip out of town.

Getting to know yourself
Before you decide to share your life with someone else, it’s important that you understand yourself more–the things you enjoy, your pet peeves, and what you really want in life. This makes it easier for you to express yourself to your significant other, making for a more harmonious and happy married life.
