Watch this Elephant Play the Harmonica

This talented pachyderm's got a mean musical streak!

Elephants are mostly known to be friendly and gentle giants, but it's not every day you meet a musically inclined pachyderm! Shanthi, a 36-year-old elephant in the Smithsonian's National Zoo, likes to create music—anything from tapping objects with her trunk to flapping her ears against things to make noise. She also likes using her trunk to blow into objects with holes until they make sounds, and her zookeepers had the brilliant idea of letting her play a harmonica, which she does with apparent glee. The most amazing part? Shanthi comes up with tunes all by herself! Watch the video to see for yourself.
