Running is currently one of the hottest sports in the country. Marathons are held around the Metro almost every month, and more and more runners are getting into the sport every day. For Rosanna Unson, the Marketing Manager of New Barbizon Fashion, seeing people do their morning runs with their dogs was an eye-opener. “Many runners bring their dogs with them and suddenly it hit me, we should do a fun but healthy activity like a walkathon and include dogs!”
Inspired by Rosanna’s idea, Sassa Activewear collaborated with The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) to organize a Six-Legged Walkathon as a fundraiser for the PAWS animal shelter. The walkathon became the kick-off event for the World Animal Day Celebration held on October 6 at the SM Mall of Asia. It was attended by dozens of dogs and their owners, who gathered to celebrate the important role all animals play in our lives.
