President Noynoy Aquino just bought himself
a third-hand Porsche. This was confirmed by Presidential Spokesman
Edwin Lacierda on Thursday
in a GMAnews.tv report. “It's a private purchase; it came from his own funds.” But according to Lacierda, the luxury vehicle didn't come at top price. “If it was not depreciated, the president wouldn't even buy it, wouldn't even consider it.”
This news comes in the wake of
a memorandum the president released last month, which
prohibits government agencies from purchasing and using luxury cars. The memorandum emphasized the proper and prudent use of public funds for government vehicles.
President Aquino fielded questions in a Palace interview, in which he clarified that his transaction was private and therefore unaffected by the policy. “
Hindi ho gobyerno ang nagbayad niyan. Ibinenta ko po ‘yung isang sasakyan ko at nagkataon ho meron namang buyer na ‘yun po ang ginamit ko pambayad nitong sasakyan ko (The government did not pay for that. I sold my own vehicle and there was a buyer, so I used the money to buy this [Porsche]),” he is quoted as saying.

Ang loophole ay may other income si Noynoy as a Cojuanco. But still, his primary position is being the president of the country.
bilang presidente, marami kang dapat isakripisyo kapalit ng posisyon mo, hindi yung puro pasarap sa buhay...
