A video of a girl berating a lady guard at the LRT-2 Santolan station has been recently making the rounds on social networking sites. According to an article on Inquirer.net, the girl, identified as Paula Jamie Salvosa, had reportedly failed to put her bag on the conveyor belt of the station’s X-ray machine for a security check.

Salvosa had complained about the way she was allegedly treated by the guard, Sharon Mae Casinas, and had demanded an apology. When the guard tried to explain, Salvosa was reported to have shot her down. “So now you’re making me look like a liar. So I’m a liar?” Salvosa had loudly asked repeatedly. The term amalayer, derived from Salvosa’s statement, soon spread on social media, starting debates regarding her actions.

Poll Question:

Do you think Paula Jamie Salvosa was right to publicly rebuke security guard Sharon Mae Casinas?

  1. Yes. Casinas must have done something really bad to provoke her ire. If Salvosa was treated rudely, then the guard deserved it.
  2. No. Casinas was just doing her job. Salvosa was the wrong one in this situation. No one deserves to be treated in such a disrespectful manner.
  3. I don’t know. I want to hear both sides of the story first before I take a side.

The act was wrong but this doesn't give us the right to judge the girl. We've only seen half of the story. And besides, who are we to throw stones at her? I'm pretty sure we all had witnessed or done some ruder acts that were luckily not caught on cam. Let's not waster our time cyber bullying her. One against thousands of netizens...isn't that rude also? She has probably learned her lesson so let's give her a break. Let's also be responsible enough when posting videos/photos. It's not fair posting one when you already admitted that it's shows only half of the story.

that's the problem here if our actions we're called out and highlighted and we are being bullied na. we start to act like we we're so kawawa na and all. in the 1st place, ang simple lang naman nung nangyari bat kailangan pa magsnap. this things happen di naman to unusual eh. laging may nagaaway sa MRT/LRT maraming nacacall out pag may dala kang patalim sa terminal ng bus or train pero di naman always narerecord to on video pero pag natsempuhan na ayan parang akala mo naman sobrang kinawawa. that's why we are always held responsible for our actions, kung sinunod mo na lang si guard at ikaw ang nagsorry edi sana walang video. kasi in her case, she was the one asking for an apology from the guard. why wait? when on your part you can do it naman diba. pride lang nag-ugat lahat ito eh. :)

Sus, para yan lang eh. Typical escandalosa girl, there's nothing here, really. Di naman nya ka-level yung mga nananakit like si Encinas and Carabuena para mag-warrant ng cyber lynching and scorn sa public.

i don't want to judge both of them kasi i was not able to hear both sides of the story. But if i will base it on the report lang, i believe a person just like the student won't be angry she was approached in a right manner and in a proper way. Sometimes kasi yung mga guard din based on my experience din has a rude manner when approaching us. Hindi naman sa nilalahat ko pero me also experienced it. But still, what the student done is not right if you will based it on how an elderly or someone ahead of us should be treated.

I agree with yeosephine. Basta lang my ma i post
