P&G Donates Laptops to School through Its e.Studyante Program

Students from Oranbo Elementary School now have better access to technology. By Jennifer Chan

Getting kids to sit still enough to learn their lessons in school is no easy task, but thanks to technology, teachers will now have their students’ undivided attention.

Procter & Gamble Philippines (P&G) and its partner companies, Robinsons Supermarket, Samsung, Synergeia Foundation, Vibal Publishing, and Smart Communications, have been giving away laptops to deserving school communities through the e.Studyante program.

Despite being only on its second year, project e.Studyante has already changed the lives of so many pupils. In fact, P&G is proud to report that students from the Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School, last year’s recipient school, have shown significant improvement in their academics, with some students even winning journalism contests.

This year’s recipient is the Oranbo Elementary School in Pasig. According to Clint Navales, P&G’s Head of External Relations, 150 Samsung netbooks will be given to the school for the students’ use. All units are said to come with licensed Vibal Publishing learning e-books to make learning more interactive for the students.
