womanity_awards_sports.jpgIt’s easy to watch ESPN or a UAAP championship and think that sports are about agility, strength, endurance, and training. While these do make up a large component of success in this field, there are still more that speak not only to a great game played, but also a great character: discipline, which is required to maintain one’s fitness and physique and consistently achieve an optimal performance level; confidence and courage, which are vital to being able to face an opponent or challenge head on; and graciousness, which entails meeting victory and loss with an equal aplomb and speaks to that all-important trait—sportsmanship.

Or sportswomanship, as the four finalists for Female Network’s Womanity Awards–Sports category show you readily enough through the triumphs of their wins and their perseverance in the face of defeat.

Read through our gallery to learn more about each finalist, and vote for the one you find most inspiring by clicking on the banner below.

We need more of Reema Changco, a true example of a modern woman who never limit herself in doing and improving herself. A true beauty inside and out.

Ana is such a strong advocate for her Filipino heritage and for all women (especially those in her sport). An excellent boxer, a beautiful person (inside and out), and a true warrior, both literally and figuratively. She never ceases to amaze me. And, with another of her fights coming up on this Friday, I'm looking forward to again seeing her exquisite boxing form and charismatic persona in action.
