Fresh sheets, soft pillows, a proper mattress and maybe air-conditioning—these are only some of the essentials for peaceful sleep. No matter what your bedtime essentials may be, there is one thing you might be overlooking and that is the color of your room. Did you know that some hues can help send you off to dreamland? Check out these ideas to help you achieve eight hours of slumber:
Gray softened by a hint of blue creates a calming ambiance without being too dark or moody. For a bit of contrast and character, complement it with white moldings.
This soft shade creates a homey vibe, but since it’s mixed with white, it does not stimulate the senses as much as bright canary does. This paint color can also be used in a kid's room until she reaches her teens.
This is a soothing blue tint that can also look lively (and lovely!) in the daytime. The best part? It’s a girly hue that’s still gender-neutral to more masculine spaces.
If you want an all-white bedroom that’s not too glaring in the morning, try oyster or cream. It’s basically a beige with a splash of gray, and it goes with both neutral or neon accessories.
Sage or almost-mint green hues are popular because they add color to a space without making it look overdone—it’s a plus that they make sleeping spaces feel soothing, too. Avoid going for deeper shades of green to avoid a muddy vibe.
