Vitamin and mineral supplements aren’t only great for protecting the body against diseases. According to Science Daily, they may also be a good source of energy and positivity for those who are prone to anxiety and depression.

Researchers led by Dr. Bonnie Kaplan from the University of Calgary asked  97 participants who were diagnosed with mood disorders to keep a food journal for three days. Those who received a higher intake of vitamin and mineral supplements were found to have, better energy levels and metal stability.

Further research by Dr. C.J. Geiger, president of Geiger & Associates, revealed that energy peaks and plateaus in adults throughout the day. Generally, energy is highest at mid-morning, slightly dips after lunch, revs up once more around late afternoon to early evening, and finally stabilizes at night before bedtime.

However, stress (among other things) could disrupt this cycle. To keep your energy levels up, researchers recommend energy and mood enhancing supplements such as 5-Hydroxytryptophan, (5 HTP), vitamin B, vitamin D, gingko biloba, and omega 3.
