Mark Erickson Valdez, 20, and his girlfriend, Maria Cris "Crissy" Patriarca, 24, were shot dead in a car parked near his residence along Virgo Street in Barangay Bagbag, Novaliches, Quezon City. The incident happened at around 6:40 p.m. on Sunday, April 30.

"Probers said the two had just arrived home after Valdez brought his father's laptop to a computer repair shop in Rockville Subdivision in Novaliches when unidentified assailants ambushed them," reports Romina Cabrera in The Philippine Star.
According to Valdez's father, he was inside the house waiting for the couple when he heard successive gunshots.
The report noted: "When he went out to check, the two were already bloodied and lifeless inside the maroon Kia Rio." Both Valdez and Patriarca were repeatedly shot in the head.
The report revealed that police "recovered six fired cartridge cases, bullet fragments, the laptop, and other personal belongings inside the car."
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the Quezon City Police District is handling the case. They have not yet revealed if they know the motive for the double murder.
