Being stuck for two to three hours in traffic is no joke. Instead of wasting time all cramped in your vehicle and getting all grumpy, why not wait things out at a good place to eat and enjoy a good, filling meal? Whether you hang out at your favorite fast food chain or dine in a fancy new restaurant, you’ll definitely be in higher spirits with these comfort dishes.

1. Jollibee’s Jolly Spaghetti

No matter what age you are, there will always come a time when you will crave for that distinct taste of sweet Pinoy spaghetti. What better way to get busog on a budget than with a plate of Jolly Spaghetti? We suggest going all-out with the Jolly Spaghetti and Chickenjoy combo for the ultimate panalo meal.

2. Greenwich’s Lasagna Supreme

If you have a hankering for something cheesy but cheap, then order the cheesy Lasagna Supreme at Greenwich. For only Php 80, you get pasta layered with cheese and meat sauce, and topped with white sauce and mozzarella.

3. Lazy Bastard’s Honey Parmesan Dog

Who doesn’t like a beautifully prepared hotdog sandwich? Indulge in this hefty serving of 100% beef hotdog wrapped in bacon, topped with parmesan, honey, and arugula. If you’re too lazy to head out to their Jupiter Street resto but are still waiting out traffic in the Makati/BGC area, you can always call them for deliveries.

4. Shakey’s Corned Beef Crrrunch Pizza

What’s better than corned beef? Corned beef with crisp potato strings and feta cheese on top of a perfectly baked thin-crust pizza! This newest offering from Shakey’s is definitely good for a long night of barkada tambay.

5. Silantro’s Beef Nachos

Tucked in the heart of Kapitolyo is probably one of the best places to go to for nachos. Silantro never scrimps on cheese, beef, or any of the great things in their basket of these Meixican crisps, which makes it a super sulit order. Just note that this place is always packed (just like EDSA), so best get there early.

6. The Belly Good Roast Beef’s Belly Good Kimchi Rice

Afraid to venture out to EDSA on an empty tummy? Enjoy the huge parking lot of Pioneer Street Market in Mandaluyong and visit The Belly Good Roast Beef’s stall. Order yourself a hefty serving of their Kimchi Rice, which comes with a malasado sunny-side up, nori flakes, and really soft and tasty roast beef. It’s definitely an interesting and satisfying meal.

A deconstructed version of the old Filipino favorite (which we have been lucky enough to taste during the restaurant’s soft opening), 7107’s Bulalo v2.0 requires you to pour its hot soup over a delectable plate of beef, bone marrow, and vegetables. It’s a dish perfect for rainy nights, whether you’re with a friend or dining alone. (Watch out for their official opening on June 20!). 7107 Culture & Cuisine is located at Ground floor, Treston International College, University Parkway District, 32nd St. Cor.
