What do you do to unwind after work?

Is reading a book or watching a movie your after-work ritual? FN wants to know!

Unwind_inside.jpgWeekdays are always busy. We spend five days a week, nine or more hours a day in the office working to meet deadlines, churn out reports, and cope with a hundred different stresses that seem to come out from nowhere. Chances are, no matter how prepared you think you may be to face every day challenges, something will come up and throw your carefully planned schedule out the window.

It's no wonder that we all look forward to going home. Do you ever find yourself thinking about what you're going to do once your work day ends? Does your mind wander to the book you can't wait to finish or the TV show you just have to watch? Maybe you like getting together with your friends for a drink or an impromptu karaoke session to unwind after putting in your nine hours. What after-work activity do you like doing at the end of the day?

When I arrive at home I got my best way to unwind after work, and that is playing with my baby, spending time with her! Actually she finds it hard to sleep if I am not the one getting her to sleep at night. Other than that? Coffee is my sinful pleasure!

I browse my favorite gossip sites, catch up with social network sites and listen to music - all while soaking my feet in hot water with milk salt.

Go running or swimming, do the groceries then cook different dishes, catch up on my current read (usually travelogues and memoirs, Time, RD)with my legs raised against the wall, watch the 9 PM flick on HBO or Star or my fave tv shows Mad Men, Modern Family and Globe Trekker, sketch and paint, listen to chill out music and U2 while having some wine, hot shower with lavender bath gels, on Fridays after work: dinner with family or friends, catch a film at the cinemas, coffee or drinks with friends, hit art galleries/bookstores/thrift shops, update my blog, surf, vid calls/chat with friends. :)

Usually, I work out, do cardio and pilates/yoga, to de-stress after work. Or I go out for a walk or hike or ride my bicycle. At home, I watch comedy and no-so-serious shows. I cook myself a good dinner and eat italian/french, drink a glass of red wine, pop a good lounge music to my player and light a couple of candles on a dimmed dinning room. :)

Go to the gym. Play with my little nephew and niece. Take them to Jollibee and eat their favorite Chicken Joy. If I have an extra, I'd go for shopping! :)

Watch my favorite tv show or cook something I've been craving for on weekdays, or watch a movie, read books or magazines or do some scrapbooking on weekends. Running is also one way to destress for me.

after work, i just sit back and relax, have a cup of coffee and read a nice book or watch some kick-ass films. i also do photography when i feel like it; it gives me a great sense of calmness. i also go to car shows if i still got the time to go out.

to unwind after work..I want to simply think of nothing, relax and go to spa for a massage but I can't do it everyday. Everytime I go home after work, my little girl de-stresses me =)

after work, i clean my room and arrange things. i also take time fixing my bed 'perfectly'. that alone de-stresses me. then, when everything's clean, i take a shower then sit on the corner of the room and just look at the nice, clean, place i've made. feels like heaven to me. :)

    Hello
One additional thing I would suggest is swimming and sauna. There really is nothing better than a relaxing sauna after light swimming. Sauna helps to relieve physical and mental stress. Really relaxing and definitely worth to try.
    Best regards

Travelling with friends always work wonders after a few weeks of stressful work.
Watching movies at home or at the theater helps me unwind.
Videoke with friends is also a stress buster! :)
