Spin Patient: 10 Common Causes of Vertigo

Here's what you need to know about this medical condition. By Stella de Dios, M.D.

Patients with true vertigo have described it as a sensation of "the room spinning," "the ground rising and falling," "things moving," "being seasick," and even like being on a merry-go-round. Nausea, vomiting, and sweating are common, and hearing loss and tinnitus (a buzzing in the ear) may be present. It has a number of causes.
