Honey, You're Stressing Out the Kids: 13 Tips for Working Moms

Work stress isn't just bad for your health; it can damage your relationship with your loved ones as well. By Jaclyn Lutanco-Chua

stressDeadlines, overtime, the presentation that doesn’t look good enough, the boss who demands that the presentation better be good enough--these are just some of the causes of workplace stress, which is defined by family counselor Bro. Harold Espeleta as “the negative physical or psychological response that a person has when the demands of work do not match his capabilities, resources, or needs.”

When a mother arrives home all burned out from problems at work, she will may be too physically and mentally drained to do anything. She may also become snappish and irritable or have a low sex drive. If her children do get to talk to their mother, they may not be able to engage in quality conversation.
