Environmental Endeavors: 8 Eco-Friendly Feats by Fellow Filipinos

Learn about the country’s initiatives in moving towards a greener future, not to mention some of our local eco-warriors. By Myra Mortega-Calulo
When former US vice-president and Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore visited Manila last year, he implored Filipinos to be part of the ongoing battle against climate change. Mr. Gore’s involvement in the film An Inconvenient Truth opened the world’s eyes to the effects of global warming, but what he was asking seemed like a tall order for a nation that constantly struggles to find eco-friendly solutions to everyday problems. But the global push to find green solutions has caught on, with local government units, non-government organizations, and private individuals gearing towards green initiatives.
