Aphrodisiacs take on a delectable twist

Jul 31, 2009 by FN's Shar Bareng

Aphrodisiacs like chocolates and certain seafood, fruits, and vegetables are good enough to serve without much fuss. But if you want something extra special for you and your man, why not fire up your pre-bedroom action with healthy, yummy dishes?

Here are just some easy-to-prepare recipes featuring aphrodisiacs such as avocado, banana, chocolate, and oysters from the newly-launched website of Yummy Magazine, www.yummy.ph.

1. Chicken and Avocado Salad
Aztecs called the avocado tree a "testicle tree" because of the fruit's odd shape. This aphrodisiac is also valued for its high anti-oxidant, fiber, and monounsaturated fat content. Putting chicken and avocado together may make this salad look a bit heavy at first glance, but its low-fat yogurt dressing makes it a guilt-free treat.

2. Deep-Fried Oysters with Mango Salsa
Oysters are rich in zinc, which is essential in producing testosterone. Mango's high vitamin E content regulates sex hormones and, consequently, sex life. The fusion of their aphrodisiac powers can put you and your man in a blissful state even before you hit the sheets.

3. Frozen Bananas
Potassium and B vitamins in this simple fruit amp sex hormone production. Tip: Why not prepare this dessert with your man? You can always serve frozen bananas straight from the store, but think how much naughty fun you'll have coating these with chocolate and candy!
