JC De Vera has gone a long way from being a teenage cutie in GMA-7’s youth-oriented show, Click. Having earned the moniker “The Drama Prince” for starring in several top-rating afternoon soaps, JC continues to show his versatility and maturity as an actor, this time in GMA-7’s weekly drama anthology, OBRA.Feast your eyes on the many faces of JC De Vera as he takes center stage in OBRA every Thursday night beginning tomorrow, after Katrina Halili’s recently-concluded stint in the drama show.
After starring in heavy dramas like Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita in primetime and afternoon Sine Novela’s Pati Ba Pintig ng Puso and Pasan Ko Ang Daigdig, JC will try to prove to us again that he is more than just a handsome face (and a hot body). This time, he takes on four daring and provocative roles in four well-written episodes with the country’s premier directors at the helm: Joel Lamangan, Maryo J. Delos Reyes, Mac Alejandre, and Jun Lana.
JC goes daring in Pretty Boy, in which he portrays a man who wants to make a decent living but is pushed into the world of macho dancing by poverty. He turns to comedy in the episode Daddy Dearest, about a young man set to get married without a hitch, until he discovers that his father and uncle are gay. He shows his tough side in the episode Rehas, as he plays a good-hearted young man who ends up behind bars as a victim of injustice. In Liwanag sa Dilim, JC portrays a disabled person who searches for love and miracle.
Don’t miss JC De Vera in OBRA beginning tomorrow night after GMA's primetime block. Here’s a sneak peek of his varied roles in this show.
