Q-11's Proudly Filipina wins international award

Jun 23, 2008 by FN's Trixie Reyna

CharleneGonzales.jpgA local TV show that proudly showcases noteworthy Pinays has done the country proud internationally.

Q-11’s Proudly Filipina won in the 2008 US International Film and Video Festival held recently in Hollywood, California. The show brought home the Gold Camera Award in the Motivational, Inspirational Production category, besting over a thousand entries from 23 countries.

Proudly Filipina has been lauded by the award-giving body for its efforts to recognize the inspiring success stories of Filipino women, empowering them to be the best that they can be.

This international award is very special and momentous for Q-11, primarily because they are a relatively young TV station, having been launched only in 2006.

Consequently, the program will celebrate its first anniversary this July with a series of special episodes, including host Charlene Gonzalez-Muhlach’s intimate interviews with the most influential women in the country.  Charlene will also be facilitating "The Proudly Filipina Dialogues" when the show tours schools around Metro Manila. In the forum, successful and empowered women who are former guests in the show will share the secrets to how they became who they are today.

Proudly Filipina airs every Friday at 7:15PM on the women’s channel, Q-11.
