Yes, you can count us in as some of the people who were devastated at Carly Smithson's early exit after that awesome rendition of "Superstar." She did have her low moments, like her trying-hard version of "Without You" during Mariah Carey night, or her tense vocals during Dolly and the Inspirational Song nights. Still, the big memorable performances are the ones that are etched in our minds--like "Come Together" or even "Blackbird," which wasn’t popular but we've loved despite the song's rather original quietness. You gotta love how this Irish lass can rock the stage!

Surprisingly, the boys fared better during Mariah Carey night this week at American Idol while some of the girls were all reduced to pale imitations of Mariah. While David Cook totally rocked the stage with "Always Be My Baby," Brooke White only managed to deliver "the bun of the hamburger," so Simon says, and Kristy Lee Cook's okay ending didn't save her screechy version of "Forever." So it's actually no surprise that it's Kristy who got the ax tonight, although we also thought Brooke has been very disappointing in the past two weeks.

 

 

 

April is here, and it means that the US series that were interrupted by the Writers Guild of America strike are certainly back with new episodes! NBC is airing Scrubs' new episode, "My Bad Too" on April 10, Grey's Anatomy returns on April 24, while House is the last of the medical dramas to resume on April 28.
