Film buffs have always been saying that Oro Plata Mata is one Pinoy film classic that you can't afford to miss. Why shouldn't it be called Peque's masterpiece and one of the best Pinoy films ever made when it swept the Gawad Urian awards in 1983 and won a couple of awards from the Film Academy Awards that same year?Well, there's finally no excuse to miss Oro Plata Mata now that it's available in record bars nationwide. Starring Cherie Gil, Joel Torre, Sandy Andolong, Mitch Valdes, and Liza Lorena, it tells the story of two aristocratic families in Negros during World War II.
Trivia: It ran for about three and a half hours (194 minutes) in the cinemas back in 1983, but the director's cut is actually double the length at six hours, undoubtedly one of the longest Filipino films ever made. Now that should make for some serious marathon!
The Oro Plata Mata DVD is available in record bars nationwide for P299.
