Members of popular bands collaborate in the name of happiness

Jun 30, 2009 by FN's Cheekie Albay

happinessfactory_main_1.jpgFirst, there was “Open Happiness” by premiere Pinoy rock band Sandwich-a catchy, get-happy track that got listeners nodding in time to the beat. Now Coca-Cola brings another anthem with the same title that is guaranteed to give a dash of cheer to your day.

As part of its campaign ”Open Coca-Cola, Open Happiness,” the soft drink giant brought together multi-awarded musicians to create “Open Happiness.” Gnarls Barkley’s Cee-Lo Green, Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump, Panic at the Disco’s Brendon Urie, Gym Class Heroes’ Travis McCoy, and Grammy-nominated singer Janelle Monae make up Happiness Factory, the supergroup that came up with the feel-good musical message.

A reflection of Coca-Cola’s perpetual positivity, “Open Happiness” is a feel-good track that sings of living every day in a state of hope and happiness. In blending the different musical leanings and quirky personalities of the group’s superstar members, what comes out is a triumphant, uplifting amalgam of pop, rock, and hip-hop.

Happiness Factory’s "Open Happiness" is now available in the country through the collaboration of the Coca-Cola Company Philippines and Warner Music Philippines, who also released its music video locally. Click here to watch the “Open Happiness” music video preview.

Besides hearing the catchy anthem on the radio, listeners can also enjoy the tune on their mobile phones by downloading the truetone or full track. To download, visit www.pressplay.ph or just key in and send to 5677. Keywords for truetone include “OH,” “OPENHAP,” “HAP,” and “HAPPY.” For the full track, type in “FULL HAPPINESS,” “FULL OH,” “FULL OPENHAP,” OR “FULL HAPPY.”
