Meet the boys and girls of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2

Sep 5, 2008 by FN's Shar Bareng

Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, Blake Lively, and Alexis Bledel reunite in Warner Bros.' The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, three years after the prequel of the film based on Ann Bashares' bestselling novels about four women who share an unbreakable bond.

Sisterhood 2 follows Tibby, Carmen, Bridget, and Lena in the months after their first year in college. More mature and complicated now, the girls find themselves heading toward different paths as they experience the freedom, love, choices, and life lessons that come with becoming adults.

Carmen (Ferrera) finds herself thrust into the spotlight for the first time when she accepts an invitation to work at a theater festival in Vermont, while Tibby (Tamblin) remains in New York to work on a film project and take her relationship with Brian McBrian (Leonardo Nam) to the next level. Meanwhile, Lena (Bledel)--separated from her first love Kostos (Michael Rady)--meets a fellow art student (Jesse Williams) who forces her to choose between the past and pursuing a new love. In far away Turkey, Bridget (Lively) goes on an archeological dig, only to realize that the truths she needs to uncover are buried closer to home.

"They really have a life of their own," says producer Kira Davis. "After the first movie, I believe we felt that these characters deserved to live on and, as filmmakers, we approached the sequel with as much anticipation as fans. We wanted to see what these women were going to do next."

Also joining the cast of Sisterhood 2 is British actor Tom Wisdom, who plays Carmen's leading man who encourages her to shine on stage. Sisterhood 2 also marks the film debut of Williams.

Despite the complications of their friendship, the girls find ways to share their experiences and reach out to those who know them best.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants opens nationwide on September 24.
