KC is now a contracted ABS-CBN talent, as she has agreed to do a primetime soap for the Kapamilya station opposite Star Magic top boy Piolo Pascual. No news yet on its working title but taping will begin in the Christmas month, with a 2009 telecast.

The first time she did her month-long special, she only signed a project contract that’s why it didn’t count, unlike this one. This prompted us to ask our friends in ABS: who will be Angel Locsin’s new onscreen partner now that PJ is with KC? Right now, Angel is blissfully busy with her first Star Cinema movie, tentatively titled Land Down Under, slated for November release. There’s no news yet on her next ABS soap after Lobo.

It’s now a matching game: who would be Angel’s next partner? John Lloyd Cruz is still the property of Bea Alonzo, while Sam Milby is Anne Curtis’s. There was Gabby Concepcion until Lorna Tolentino came, so that leaves Diether Ocampo. But then we heard of another pairing with Claudine Barretto after Iisa Pa Lamang. So will she be paired next to the “next in line” boys? Not good.


Opportunities lost. By now, everyone knows that the most intelligent comedienne to ever walk showbiz ground, Eugene Domingo, is out of her Regal Films movies. The grandmother of all matriarchs, Lily Monteverde, had a verbal and contractual tussle with Eugene’s manager, colleague Ricky Gallardo. Hence, the deal with Shake, Rattle & Roll 10 is off. Unfortunately, so are those for other movies including Desperadas 2 and the GMA Films Valentine collaboration Save The Best For Last, starring Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion. Marian Rivera replaced Eugene in the Nieves episode in SRR 10, while Ogie Alcasid steps into her Desperadas 2 role. We wonder whose loss it is.


Snubbed. A blind item circulated two weeks ago about an ex-sweetheart involved in domestic violence in a faraway country. The boy manhandled the girl, the girl has bruises and cuts to prove it, but no one is talking. Recently, Jake Cuenca and Roxanne Guinoo were named as the subjects of that item, and indeed, Roxanne has bruises yet she is not talking. She even snubbed the press who visited the Shake, Rattle & Roll 10 pictorial. If and when Jake decides to break his silence and throw the blame on Roxanne, do you think press people involved in the snubbing incident will still be willing to hear her side? Not likely, girl.


Blindly. A Survivor Philippines castaway is in the cast of GMA’s newest primetime soap in production, Heart Evangelista’s Luna Mystica. The boy—yes that’s your clue—will have a big role in this telefantasya but he could not be named yet, for the simple reason that officially, he’s still in the game. He’s still among the roster of castaways struggling it out in that Thai island for the 3 million pesos jackpot prize. Once he’s officially eliminated in Survivor Philippines, FemaleNetwork will be among the first to know who he is.
