For most of us, shaping up always sounds synonymous to dieting (crash or not), or worse, starving ourselves just to achieve that perfect body. But research showed that getting the right nutrients works way better than starving ourselves to death. We were even more convinced when Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow revealed to Oprah Winfrey that she never went on a diet after she gave birth to her second baby--and still looked amazing afterwards.
At 35, Gwyneth even admitted that losing weight was more difficult after her second pregnancy. "I could not get off like these extra 20 pounds," she said. "Something changed, or maybe I was getting older, being in my 30s."
After Oprah mildly told Gwyneth off for packing on the pounds, Gwyneth confided that she never counted calories while she was pregnant, saying that it would only make her gain more. "I would eat everything in sight; I think maybe it's the idea that you can’t have something, the restriction. I just can't do it, I just cannot diet!" To which Oprah exclaimed her agreement and declared, "This is like therapy for me!" You can check out the video below.
So if you're on a mission to shape up, do a Gwyneth and stop counting the calories. Should you pack on too much, remember that the best way to lose it is still by exercising!
