Goodbye, Dr. Izzie Stevens?

Jul 21, 2008 by FN's Shar Bareng

tv_izziedenny.jpgBack in the third season of Grey's Anatomy, we thought the producers would be brave enough to kill off Grey's main character, Meredith, played by Ellen Pompeo, when she drowns and even flatlines in the trauma room. Fortunately for Meredith, though, a miracle happened and it was her mother who died instead.

But would the same kind of miracle happen to Katherine Heigl's role as Dr. Izzie Stevens?

E! Online reported recently that producers want to kill off Dr. Stevens after Katherine spoke up about her withdrawal from the Emmy Awards because her character wasn't given good enough material to work with. Entertainment Weekly also disclosed that two sources have confirmed this news, but the website also came up with another article saying the ABC entertainment president has addressed the issue (among other buzz with ABC) and reassured the press that Katherine is staying.

The E! report also discussed the possibility that Katherine is set to focus on her film career instead, after she hit gold with Knocked Up and 27 Dresses last year.

Grey's fans, speak up: Would you be willing to watch Izzie die?
